Threads has taught us many lessons since it’s inception two years ago.
This month we’ve had many difficult discussions that led to a decision we feel still allows us to hold our heads up high.
We learned just a few days ago that the Ann Arbor Distilling Co. can no longer accommodate us due to issues involving building and fire codes, complications unforeseen by all parties involved. Since then, we have made every effort to revise our plans, ensuring that the festival opens on the previously scheduled days. This installment of Threads was designed specifically for the Ann Arbor Distilling Co., and we firmly believe that we cannot proceed elsewhere in so little time without sacrificing our core values: to provide the optimal platform for both audience and artist to experience work of the highest quality.
This is a festival of all arts, the coming together of expression and ideas, people and place. This is about sharing and supporting. Our identity as a community is reflected in the art we make.
The festival will showcase mediums of installation and performance, workshops and artist panel discussions, and food from local farms. Threads are the connections between us, and so we invite you to experience and contribute.
