Threads All Arts Festival
THREADS ALL ARTS FESTIVAL : POSTPONED, please read our info page for more details
Threads is a chance to create something together.
To make something happen.
For you, for us.
For strangers and for friends.
Onstage. Backstage. In rooms. In parking lots.
We think about how it will feel when you walk in the space.
And how it will feel when you’ve been there for seven hours.
And what you might remember four months after you’ve left.
We aim to make an impact with what impacts us:
The art of our community.
Togetherness. Intimacy. Vulnerability.
We believe this is the best way to create a platform
For shared happiness.
One that you can stand on
Regardless of your age
There is room for you.
And we are so happy
In September 2015, two best friends (Nicole and Sam) realized they really wanted to find a way to share, with many people, all the amazing art they saw coming out of their friends and neighbors. The frequency of this particular conversation increased greatly as the number of leaves on trees decreased. Winter settled in, the team expanded (Karen, Lang, Meri, and Peter), and they were awarded a grant that made all of this possible. Four months later, April 1+2, 2016 marked the two-day all arts festival held at the Yellowbarn in Ann Arbor, MI called Threads.
This is now the second year of the festival. We will keep you posted on our latest plans for the second iteration on our blog, on other social media and in person. We cannot wait to share this weekend with you.
